Transparent stain provides a rich transparent color that resembles
stone. Transparent stain palettes are generally composed of earth
tones including subtle blues and greens. Through this stain you
will see all the character lines and color variations that are
visible in your unstained concrete. Every concrete floor, and
even areas of the same floor, accepts transparent stain in
varying degrees of intensity leaving multiple hues and a natural,
organic stone look.
Most sound concrete surfaces (interior or exterior) can be stained,
and/or engraved. Existing concrete surfaces can be prepared
for the staining and/or engraving process. It is generally not
practical to think that staining will hide flaws in slabs or
save a deteriorating slab. Previous floor coatings and coverings
may require additional prep work.
Yes. A cure period of a month should pass prior to staining and/or
engraving a newly poured surface. When planning the construction
of a new slab that is intended to be stained, ask that the concrete
contractor refrain from using “cure and seal” type products. These
curing agents will add a sealer/membrane to the surface which will
resist the stain.
No, we can provide staining, engraving or both.
The surface is as durable as untreated concrete. We seal all
surfaces, prolonging the life of the stain. We apply a high quality
commercial floor finish (floor wax) to indoor surfaces.
For indoor surfaces, we recommend that you maintain the floor by
reapplying a floor finish (wax) and/or optional burnishing.
Burnishing the wax is not necessary for residential floors but
recommended for commercial floors. The floor finish prevents
the sealer from wearing and thus exposing the stained surface
to wear. Outdoors, resealing is recommended every 2-5 years or
as needed.
No. Unlike some treatments, there is no additional thickness
with our process. The pattern is engraved into the existing
surface.
Your choice of engraved design will last the lifetime of the
concrete surface.
